YUSU Elections 2015

Ah YUSU elections. It’s that time of year again! Brace yourselves for the cardboard, kitchen pitches and cheesy campaign videos.

This is basically just a quick run through to make sure everyone, including candidates, knows where Langwith fits in.

As many of you already know campaigning across the University opens this week, with voting via the YUSU website open from Monday 23 Feb.

You guys will undoubtedly start seeing posters and cardboard out in force; if College elections were bad just wait for YUSU elections.

In accordance with YUSU rules, candidates cannot enter blocks unless invited by someone. Whilst pretty vague, that basically means that they aren’t allowed to just to a massive block run like College candidates did in Autumn term.

However, candidates will be allowed to use the Langwith College campaigning Facebook group again. That is the only space online they can advertise to Langwith students all in one place.

All that’s left to say is, as always, make sure you #getinvolved! Langwith, as usual, had one of the highest turnouts last year, so please make sure you get out and vote and support those you want to win!

You can find more details about the weeks ahead here!

As always, before I go, remember you can always get in touch with me at ab1639 or via Facebook. With these being YUSU elections you don’t have a Returning Officer to contact in-College, but you can always message me to rant about the candidates, or ask questions about voting and all that.

Anyways, thanks guys! LL,

Alex xo

President
