Langwith is the best college at York Uni. 

 

It's a bold claim, but we're confident in making it. Our college spirit, our community atmosphere, our history and traditions set us apart from the competition.

 

​As a committee elected by Langwith students, its our job to keep Langwith on top. We're made up of students from every background, and have a broad range of responsibilities from organising Fresher's Week to fighting for a fair deal from the University. Meet us here.

So, what do we do?

 

Events

We organise the biggest, messiest Fresher's Week on campus. Then, throughout the year, we put on plush balls and formals at some of York's classiests venues. We run regular bar crawls and club nights, and take you to sample the nightlife of our neighbour cities, like Sheffield and Leeds. For a more chilled-out night, we put on pub quizes, Take Me Out, Mr & Mrs and other gameshow nights in our own bar, The Glasshouse.

 

We're famous on campus for our legendary events.

 

 

Activities

With a proud sporting heritage, we run and support 10+ college sports teams, catering for every ability. We are also the only college to have our own College Clubs - giving you the chance to share interests with people from your college.

 

Our community spirit means we're committed to doing our bit in the community. We raise money for RAG by sending students to trek volcanoes in Guatemala. We won the Volunteering Cup in 2013 after giving up time for local projects like Kids Camp.

 

 

Welfare

Langwith is like one big family. As a Student Association, we believe in supporting you in any way we can. Uni has its challenges, so we're set up to help you out with whatever comes your way.

 

As well as sorting out STYCs during Fresher's Week, our welfare team can signpost you to all sorts of professional support available across the uni. Our liberation officers make the extra effort for our international, LGBT, disabled and off-campus students.

We stand up for Langwith students. Through close working relationships with YUSU and the University, we are well prepared when it comes to getting Langwith students what they deserve,
